Vehicle Servicing

• Why should I service my car?

Your vehicle is a complex piece of machinery and to maximise its efficiency and performance, it requires regular servicing.

This is a factor often overlooked and unappreciated, but the reality is failure to service your vehicle will decrease its lifespan and value, and increase the likelihood of breakdowns. In these instances, the cost of repair is often much greater than the cost of regular servicing. We are here to ensure you are only spending money when your vehicle really needs it.

We believe that owners should understand just how important this element of vehicle maintenance is and why servicing should always be carried out by multi-skilled, qualified Motor Engineers.

• How often should you have your vehicle serviced?

Some cars feature a self-diagnostic system, which will advise when a car service is due. Drivers are advised not to ignore these warning signs even if they occur before 12 months or 12,000 miles has been reached. If you drive an older vehicle or tend to rack up a high annual mileage, you may require more regular servicing.

It really depends on a variety of factors, such as make, model and usage, but as an absolute minimum your vehicle should always be serviced at least every 12,000 miles or every 12 months between MOTs – whichever comes first.

Brakes

As with every aspect of vehicle maintenance, safety is paramount. When you need to stop quickly and safely you should have no doubts concerning the efficiency of your vehicle’s braking system.

Signs of brake wear are not always obvious, but even the simplest wear and tear issues can cause a dramatic reduction in performance. Any suspected issues, such as brake judder or squeaking, along with general performance, should be checked regularly by a professional.

Our experts can undertake visual or full brake inspections to identify the poor condition of brake pads, brake discs, callipers and cylinders, plus fluid levels and brake lights.
